Long stop in Paris

On Wed. Jan 15, I'm flying from Africa to the US with a 9 hr stop in Paris (arr 5:50am, dep 3:40pm).I hate to waste the time in the airport. Is there somewhere I could go out of the airport for a late morning breakfast/lunch. A subway/train or cab trip out of the airport and back? I've never been to Paris and not seen the airport layout. I understand a lot will be dependent on the transit strike.

If the strike is over and transport is as normal, you could take the RER B to the Notre Dame/St. Michel stop in the center of Paris and have a nice stroll in a very scenic part of the city and get a late breakfast. You need to be on the train back to the airport 4 hours before your onward flight to the US and have your luggage checked through -- Because restaurants generally serve lunch from 12 to 2 and that is too late for you, you would need to find a cafe with continuous service to grab a bite -- or get a late breakfast. You need to be on the RER back to the airport at 11:40

Kristi, take into account that to leave the airport, you will have to go through immigration, which will take some time. Then the time to go through security on the return to the airport.
