My daughter and son-in-law want to experience wine tasting in the Loire Valley while staying in Paris. Can you suggest some wine tasting tours which can be handled as a day trip from Paris. Thank you.
I suggest that they look at Google Maps to see how far it is. Several hours, even in a luxury car service would end up tedious and tiring. There is a TGV train to St. Pierre des Corps (for Tours) but I wouldn't do that as a daytrip. Most people prioritize the grand chateaux (I mean historic mansions, not wine houses ... ) in the Loire over wine tastings, but you can do both on a multi-day trip.
Hi dlk, the Loire Valley is probably more than a day trip. As an alternative, maybe champagne tasting in Reims? It's a 45 minute train trip from Paris. Your daughter and son-in-law might also want to visit Reims Cathedral where the kings of France were crowned, and the Surrender Museum where Germany surrendered to the Allies ending World War II. An easy day trip.
Hi
I can recommend www.letastingroom.com run by two wine professionals (originally from the UK), providing excellent wine tours of the Loire Valley, and very much geared up for day trippers from Paris. They offer a pickup and drop off at Angers train station which is only about a 1.5 hour journey from Paris, maybe even a bit less.
