Hi fellow travelers,
Getting into the nitty gritty of planning now. Our group of four adults wants to do some wine tasting/touring in the Loire valley. We will be based in Amboise. I am having a hard time finding a reasonable priced guide for this. The guide I recently checked with based on trip adviser wants 1000.00 plus euros for one day or 600.00 euros for a half day. This seems way too expensive to me even though I realize it's France! We will have a rental van but don't want to chance drinking and driving as I am told the legal limit in very strictly enforced and very low tolerance in France. We can have a designated driver of course but no one really wants to be left out of the tasting. So, anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone used a guide for wine tasting or did you just go on your own?
