We should be in the Loire Valley at that time and would enjoy taking in the celebration. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Until about a week before it's difficult to find out what's happening where.
I don't know what you're expecting, but I can guarantee it will be less fervant than that :). Probably a firework display and a guingette (street dance) and that's about it. Tours will have something on the 14th, a lot of the smaller towns and villages will have theirs on the evening of the 13th
