Loire Valley and then what

We are going on a bike vacation in the Loire Valley for 6 days ending in Amboise and then wanted to head toward Nice. We have six days after the bike ride and were thinking about going to Carcassonne, Arles and then Nice and we were hoping to take a train. Does this make sense? Or does anyone have a better idea. We liked seeing the medieval town and then beaching it for a few days before we leave. thanks for any suggestions.

This website will tell you about train service you might be able to use. I didn't check, but I'd be surprised if you could get trains along the route you describe. A car might work better.

Closer to the Loire Valley, you could consider another region in north west of France : Normandy or Brittany. If you enjoy both history and beaches, Bretagne has quite much to offer, but it depends on the season you come and on the sea temperature you expect. Of course if driving to the south of France does not seem that long for you, temperature of the Mediterranean sea is higher!

All of those places are served by train, so of course you can connect them by train. The main question is whether you like the train schedules or might prefer to drive and make a few more rural stops along the way. Amboise to Carcassone takes 2 or 3 train connections, depending on time of day. I would choose those via Bordeaux and/or Toulouse, not via Paris (which would likely cost more).
