Loire to the South of France in 13 Days Tour" in Fall of 2027

Hello all,

We are doing the "Loire to the South of France in 13 Days Tour" in Fall of 2027. On day 10 we are in Arles and the group is going to see the Pont du Gard, which we have seen already. It's just a morning excursion and then back to Arles for a free afternoon. I thought we would stay behind and spend the entire day in Arles instead of seeing the Pont du Gard again.

Any suggestions for what to do with our day? Places to eat? Things to see?

Thanx in advance!

If you haven’t been already the Roman museum in Arles is excellent.

We spent a couple of hours at Museon Arlaten. We also took a jeep tour of the Carmague. It was bumpy but interesting. There were several stops to admire the scenery, the ponies and the flamingos. I think it lasted about four hours or so. We enjoyed La Gueule du Loup restaurant. It’s a small restaurant with an interesting menu.

We took the train and went to Avignon to visit the Palais des Papes. It was outstanding.
