Hello!
Part of our trip at end of summer could include canal trip of one of the two above options. Do you know these routes? Is there one you’d recommend over the other?
From Briare, southward, following the Loire quite close-by, through to Nevers, Decize, finally Dompierre-sur-Besbre.
OR
From Corbigny, southward on the Nivernais, through Collancelle, étang de Baye, Châtillon-en-Bazois, Pannecot, Cercy-la-Tour, Decize, finally Dompierre
We love fresh markets, quaint villages with local fare at fair prices, historical buildings. We loved our trip on the canal du midi from Carcassonne to Montpellier last May. We would do that route again but we understand that at the end of summer, it could be smelly and still very busy… is this so?
Finally, any recommendations where to stay in Dompierre or near Dompierre?
Kind regards,
