Logistics to/from Charles De Gaulle and Paris Latin Quarter

We're a family of four (two adult children) traveling to Paris for our first visit in mid-March! We arrive early Monday morning at CDG airport and I'm wondering what people have found to be the best way to get from CDG to an apartment near the Sorbonne in the Latin Quarter. We need transportation for four plus luggage. Also, would appreciate any ideas on what people have done with their luggage if they arrived before check-in time and don't want to carry it all over the place. Merci, everyone!

I typically take the train (RER) but since there are four of you, it makes sense to take an official taxi, especially on a first trip. There is a fixed rate between 50 and 60 euro. I have never had a hotel that wouldn't store my luggage if I couldn't check into the room, especially so in Paris. I usually mentally access where there are putting it and grab anything of real value including my passport if I think it isn't very secure. That said, I've left my luggage very often and never had a problem. In my personal opinion, I think you are staying in a great location!

Our family of three, including our 17 year old son, stayed on Rue Racine near that area. We took the RER B from CDG to the Luxembourg subway station and it was a short walk from there to our hotel. It was easy as that stop is the last one on that line. We stayed in a hotel so we were able to leave our luggage secured in the reception until we came back later to move into our room. We had one carry on roller each with a small back pack.

The OP said they're staying in an apartment. Yes, it's very common for hotels to store your luggage before checkin...maybe not so common for apartments. Ask the apartment owner / rental agency what to do with your luggage. You surely don't want to be schlepping it around with you until checkin.

Depending on the exact location of your apartment, the City Locker luggage storage location at 6 Rue des Bernardins might be an option for you. You can see the rates and make reservations at citylocker.fr. I would take a taxi there for 55€ (fixed rate for four people and their luggage from CDG). You'll spend 41.2€ on mass transit so unless you have a philosophical commitment to mass transit (or plan to get a Navigo pass), the convenience of being dropped off at the luggage storage place would be worth it IMO. If City Locker does not work out for you, just look up "luggage storage Paris" online and you will find a bunch like Eelway, Nannybag and Holibag.

For your group, take a taxi. Go to the official queue; avoid any freelance airport touts. 50 euros right bank; 55 left bank. No tip (not me, anyhow.) Some apartments will allow early arrival on a case-by-case basis so check with your agency.
