Logistics/Clarification Eiffel Tower

Tickets to the summit are sold out when we can go this month. If anyone has any experience, I need help figuring out Plan -
1)Any advice about standing in line for the Climb the Stairs to the 2nd floor option - is there much of a line?
2)If we do that, is there an option for standing in line on the 2nd for for the summit?
3)Tickets are available online from the Official tower site for Climbing the Stairs but it doesn't say anything about skip the line? Would we still be waiting in a line or we would directly start the climb?
Thanks in advance. It's a tad confusing

  1. "skip the line" is a myth. If you have tickets to climb the stairs you skip the ticket line. there is NO way to skip the security line

2, My understanding of the process is that they no longer allow you to buy tickets for the summit on the 2nd level

In mid September, 2019, we climbed to the second level. Bought our tickets on site, no line to speak off and climbed. Even if you are able to wait in line for ticket to summit, you must again wait on the second level for elevator up. We did not want to spend precious time on waiting and were very happy with the second level! Also, remember you might have a cloudy or rainy day, so same day purchase can be a good thing.

You cannot buy a ticket on the second floor for the summit.

The line to buy tickets to walk to the second floor is usually short -- not more than 15 minutes or so. You can buy the elevator ticket to the top when buying the walk up ticket as an add on if the top is open. This is the only option to get that additional ticket.

whether you buy a ticket to the elevator on site or the walk up ticket on site, you fairly immediately start the trip up. The line is to get the ticket. (well there is a short line through security to begin the walk or the elevator, but it is not another very long line)

Once on level 2 the line for the elevator to the top may be a pretty long wait as those elevators are smaller.

Everyone can ride down whether they walked up or not. The lines to get down have in my experience not been long.
