We'll be exploring the Loire Valley in a few weeks and headed to L'Isle Sur La Sorgue the next day. We are hoping to cut down the travel a bit as we have 4 kids with us and are looking for something charming between Loire and Bourges- perhaps in Bourges itself. Does anyone have recommendations a few hours south of the Loire Valley that still has some charm? Many thanks!

Le Puy en Velay is a charming larger town a little over 3 hours south of Bourges. Even closer is the fantastic medieval village of Charroux. And Bourges itself is definitely a worthwhile place to spend a night.
