My husband and another couple will be traveling to the Loire Valley. We would love to stay in a castle that would be centrally located to other castle sites. . Any recommendations on lodging...charming towns or other suggestions?

We stayed near Amboise in Chateau de Pray http://www.chateaudepray.fr/ We liked it very much and were rather surprised that it was in our price range. The restaurant is excellent. We enjoyed our splurge meal there and the staff at restaurant was exceptionally attentive and helpful.

We have found that our clients rate la Tortiniere just south of Tours higher than any of the others. Our personal observation is that the clients themselves have less little issues when they stay there.
