We are trying to decide on the best location as first time visitors to Paris. We would prefer walking to the to cafes, bakeries for morning breakfast. A nice quiet neighborhood, and rooms that are a little larger than normal. Traveling 17-20 July.
Any suggestions welcome

When you say "rooms that are a little larger than normal" do you mean larger than the usually very small Paris sizes or larger than most hotels, like a suite Nigel(Dan)?

You could try using bookin.com as a search engine, put in your price range, Get the results and the sift by listed sq ft of the room. Hôtel La Lanterne has rooms of sorts of sizes, with prices to match. And I think that is what you will find. Large rental, large price. I do want to be able to open my suitcase, but other than that I sleep and take a shower in my rental.
