Greetings to all !
We are headed to Paris soon, and were wondering about contacting a local tour guide/ or Local group that would take us through this museum ?
Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks

It's not clear to me why one would want a guide for the Louvre. Do you have a particular interest you're trying to satisfy?
The Louvre has its own tours, in English as well as other languages: https://www.louvre.fr/en/visites-guidees
Or, if you just want a focus to narrow down the huge collection, you can follow one of their "visitor trails" on your own: https://www.louvre.fr/en/parcours
I actually think a guide for the Lourve to be a great idea. Been there numerous times, lived in Paris for a while and can tell you that you could spend an ENTIRE DAY just ogling the ceilings and nothing else. a guide can take your interests to heart and at the same time show you little know treasures. There is just TOO much art and you have to winnow it down and that is the real usefulness of the guide.
There was a lady offering tours of the Lourve starting with Tea at her house and an informal art lesson then a tour. It was highly rated people raved about her. She is an art historian and former employee of the museum. I don't think she will be listed again until closer to the spring though. (And for the life of me I cant remember her name)
good luck
I have found the link to the Paris guide who does tours of the Louvre. Take a look here. It's an AirBnb Paris Experience. I am planning on booking her for my trip there in April.
Hope this helps.
On our first trip to Paris we had a private guide from Paris Muse and it was fantastic. Great insight, ably guided to the highlights, patient with our questions, and totally focused on our interests.
Definitely go with the Visitor Trails. There are 28 different tours, almost all are estimated at 90 minutes. When my daughter and I were there last summer she picked the Lion Hunt (all sculptures), while I chose the Masterpieces (a real highlights tour).
The Louvre is HUGE and can be overwhelming if you don't have a plan. But, I don't see any reason to pay for a tour guide when you have these Visitor Trails available.
Paris Walks also offers a small group Louvre tour, or you can hire one of their guides to take your group.
