Would love any input on places to hear live "Django Reinhart-type" jazz or jazz standards, day or night, in smallish locales in Paris. Does anyone have any tips for resources / venues where we (2 adults) could go for this?

Check out the 38 Riv Jazz bar. Such an interesting venue (in "le cave" )and on the Rue de Rivoli near the Hôtel de Ville.
Also le Jazzbar Lucs des Lombards is a great spot. They used to also be streamed on RadioFrance.

Yes for the excellent Duc des Lombards (not the Lucs des Lombards) which is in the Halles district
20 meters from the "Duc" there is another jazz club "Le Baiser Salé"
