I just purchased Rick's 2017 France guide. We will be in the Dordogne region and planned to spend a day in and around Limoges. But alas, Limoges gets no mention in the book (or maybe I just didn't see it). Is there a good resource I can go to for that area? Thanks, Paul
Have tried Google? I have found that many cities have websites with information for travelers. You might also buy another guidebook. Rick's is great, especially for its up-to-date practical information, but I like to augment it with the Michelin Green Guide, which covers more locations with lots of detail. However, the green guides are usually not updated annually, so some information may be out of date.
The RS books couldn't possibly cover every town and city in any country in Europe, so they only cover the places where most North Americans might want to visit. That may be while Limoges isn't covered. This website might provide a few ideas.....

If you're interested in WW-II history, the martyr's village of Oradour-sur-Glane is close to Limoges, and that's well worth seeing.
Just google: Limoges tourist information
Thanks Ken, The lonelyplanet site is great.
You must visit Oradour-sur-Glane as Ken suggested. We went two years ago .This special place was as moving and reverent as Normandy and should not be missed. Please go through the museum and see the brief movie before entering the sacred grounds.
Oradour-sur-Glane is in Rick's book and it is on our list. I didn't know it was that close to Limoges. We went to Normandy several years ago. Our guide was just amazing. His name is Paul Woodadge, who is British. He will custom design your tour based on what interests you. Here's the website: http://www.ddayhistorian.com/
