Les Invalides in Paris

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy just a ticket to see Napoleon's tomb without also buying one for the Army Museum. We are with 3 young girls, and our family thinks it would not be feasible to take them to the museum. However, we do want them to at least see Napoleon's tomb. Thank you

You walk through the side of the building, pay at the front, then go up the steps to the entrance and the tomb is in a rotunda. The museum is off to the side. You look down on the tomb and that is a five-minute visit. Without a museum pass, is that worth it?

The museum isn’t an obligation, but we did find it fairly interesting. You could wander around for a few minutes until the children need their next amusement.

Les Invalides is a bit far away from anything fun for children, as I recall, although we walked there. It was a lot of office buildings in the area. So the children might get tired as well.

Also lindah from les Invalides/Napoleon's Tomb to the Rodin Museum is a 10-minute walk where the kids can have an ice cream after seeing some of the sculptures. The Paris Museum Pass gives you entry for both sights and a timed entry is not required at least at the moment.

Do you know of the Musee des Plans Reliefs? It's also at Les Invalides and it's a museum of miniatures of castles and cities that used to be used to plan strategic defense, etc. There's also historic relief maps of Paris and other parts of France. And, they sometimes have children's activities like craft projects or the ability to book a children's party with one of the activities (of course, in French) . These are available during school holidays or bookable for a children's party on specific days of the week.

Either way, maybe your young girls would be more interested in the maps instead of armor and swords- might make the admission to see the tomb more reasonable.

Thank you all for all this advise. I'm leaning on buying the tickets & seeing what the girls will tolerate...Good news is that they all have free entry with adults accompanying.
