Chez Denise is an old school/classic/traditional French place about 3 minute walk from Les Halles or Chatelet les Halles. I don't think that they have a website so here is some info from Paris by Mouth: https://parisbymouth.com/our-guide-to-paris-la-tour-de-montlhery-chez-denise/
I like au Pied de Cochon, Le Louchebem (for steaks), and Aux Crus de Bourgogne.
Le Petit Bouillon Pharamond has good value food in a lovely, lively setting. I had an early (for France) dinner there, and when I left the restaurant around 7 PM, lots of people were lined up waiting to enter.
This is tourist central and full of restaurants. We really like Comptoir de la Gastronomie which specializes in fois gras. Their grilled fois gras is amazing but best to split between two people as it is so rich. They have fois gras ravioli and good duck parmentier (shepherd's pie but with duck). My husband and i get a parmentier and a fois gras and share each. Very small place and especially in winter when you won't be eating outdoors, a reservation is a must.
We had a very good meals at Escargot; they specialize in snails which I split with a friend and then we had fish dishes and a really good dessert -- an individual fruit pavlova. It is charming and fairly touristy and the food was good.
I second Comptoir de la Gastronomie for those who love foie gras. It is one of my husband’s favorite places in Paris because he loves foie gras.
One good thing about au Pied de
cochon is that it is open to very late hours. It is also good if you like dishes involving pigs feet. Peter
Au Pied de Cochon is fantastic
Le Terminus du Châtelet is also wonderful.
La Maison Rouge has one of the best brunches
