Leaving tomorrow full of gratitude

Hello,
I have lurked and combed the travel forums since January and more often than not I learned tidbits, wonderful suggestions, things not to do and even been encouraged not to let the rainy forecast get my spirits down. Mostly I have been moved to see the kindness of strangers helping fellow travelers along the way. It has been 18 years since we have been in France and tomorrow my husband, son and I leave for a 10 day trip. We were living in France when our son was born and he was two when we returned to the States. We have the great privilege of traveling with him as he experiences the beauty and grace of Paris and Strasbourg for the first time. You have helped me plan this trip and I am appreciative! Much has changed with traveling in 18 years.
Four days in Paris, staying in the 9th near Rue des Martyrs and 10 minutes from the funicular to Sacre-Coeur. We have our pictures ready for the Navigo Decouvert, I am confident of taking the train from CDG to Gare du Nord, we have our PMP and timed tickets for Eiffel Tower (to the top), Louvre (evening), St Chappelle and Versailles. Musee D'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe and Sacre Coeur will be visited as well. Then renting a car on Sunday to go to Nancy where we lived and show our son where he was born and then onto Strasbourg for two days. Finally we train to Luzern and then Zurich. AND we are going carry-on only thanks to many of your testimonies and RS guidance! First time!
Thank you for the time you give and the experiences you share. I plan to take notes and write a trip report upon return.

How very kind of you to post this.

This really sounds like a plan - and to share it with the lad. wow..

The plan looks well thought out, and the chance to share his birthplace with the lad.

I hope you all have a properly wonderful time. Enjoy!!

Very excited for you that you will be staying near Rue des Martyrs. A favourite street for many and it even has a book written about it. Enjoy your very special family trip.
