Leaving in a few hours for Paris

I am writing this to thank everyone who has helped me with the myriad of questions I have asked these past few months. I have arranged wheelchair service at JFK, CDG upon arrival, AMS (open jaw ticket), and JFK upon arrival home.

I have downloaded a bunch of Downton Abbey episodes for the flights on Amazon Prime, charged up my phones and iPod/iPad, and packed my RS Paris book I took out from the library. Sometimes I forget.

I have used the CityMapper app to save locations and routes for offline usage. I am not buying a SIM card as I'll be in Paris, Dortmund and Amsterdam so why bother. The Dortmund part is where wifi will be scarce as we're staying with friends in their town but I will probably not be online much.

Anyway, thank you all very much. :-)

I'd suggest trying to sleep on the flight there if at all possible. Even four hours of sleep will pay off quite a bit during your first day in Paris. Downton Abbey will still be there tomorrow. I'd also suggest loading Rick Steve's kindle version rather than paper (I'm a very light packer) but that may not be an option now.

Have a great time.

Thank you everybody. I'm back and did follow Brad's advice of not watching Downton Abbey or any videos en route to Paris. I did what I could to sleep. It was a great trip and I wrote a trip report for anyone who likes reading them.

This was a SUPERB trip. CityMapper was incredibly helpful too.
