leasing a car in france

we will be in the south of france and then italy for about 10 weeks this coming fall. i believe leaseing a new renault from europbycar offers the best value. any comments? tx, nicholas

Several companies do leasing. I leased a Peugeot through Auto Europe in 2006. There was an addition fee for pick up or drop off outside of France. I assume all the companies do that. I would check them all for the best price. Be sure to give yourself several months lead time to deal with the paperwork.

We leased a car through the Renault program two years ago. I can't remember the US agency that handled the lease - I believe they were located in NJ. We picked up our car at the Montpellier airport and returned it in Paris. Bottom line, it was a terrific experience. The new Renault was delivered as promised, operated as promised, accepted upon return as promised. I do recall additional fees for returning the car outside France ... not huge, but significant enough to pay attention. I think the additional fee covers Renault's expense to return the vehicle to France.

We have leased cars twice and have nothing but good things to say about the process. All insurances are included, both of us could drive it, brand new car, great experience. Unfortunately, the price has really gone up and many of our trips it has not worked out price wise. With 10 weeks, that should not be an issue for you, and I would do it! We used Pugeot,

Both Renault and Peugeot programs are similar. Years ago, I lease a Peugeot 205, a step up from the smallest car and engine, for several months. My experience was all good. Note that you are reserving a particular car and your pick up and drop off appointments are firm appointments; someone will be waiting for you.
