Le Havre port passport control

I will be on a Princess British Isles cruise that begins / ends in Southampton England. One of the port destinations is Le Havre France. Since France is Schengen and the UK is not, I am curious as to what passport control to expect to get off the ship for a day in France and if a passport control process is repeated to return to the ship?

Any guidance is appreciated

Passport protocols for cruise passengers are generally different from those entering through airports. If I recall correctly, the cruise line keeps your passport and you need only government ID with disembarking for the day.

Nonetheless, these are questions you should pose to Princess.
