Le Harve immigration

I will be on a British Isle cruise with a one day port stop in Le Harve France. As the UK is not Schengen, should I expect an immigration/ border control process to enter France for a day and then a repeat process to reboard the ship for return to the UK

Vague response from cruise line at best. Hoping for feedback from someone who has actually experienced it
