Lavender Field Stay

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a "pretty" Gite or farm stay between Avignon and Valensole or Avignon and Sault that has views of a lavender field from premises? Preferably not a shared B&B unless it has a separate entrance to accommodation and private bathroom/sitting area. Needs to sleep 2 adults 2 children (ie 2 doubles or 1 double 2 singles)

Unfortunately all of the nice ones I have found are 1000 euro + for 2 nights. Am hoping for something around 300 euro/ 330 usd per night (pie in the sky!). Something like Le Mas De La Rose but on a budget :)

Thank you.

Might be a tall order. It is difficult enuf to plan to get full blooming fields.
Best of luck. Been there 2 times to try to get peak lavender bloom.

Hi,
Just double checking: are you going between June 20 and July 20? Likelihood of lavender bloom is much smaller outside of this narrow range.
Otherwise I'm sorry, can't offer a recommendation.

Thank you.

We will be there 8-10 July next year.

Am aware of Mas Rose (see OP) but not only are they unavailable, a bit out of budget.

I just want to put a plug in for Sequim, Washington where we have many lavender farms and it is not hard to figure out when the peak bloom is. No trans-atlantic flights required either.

Thanks Carol, I’m in Australia travelling to Spain/France for our first family trip. We have some fields in Victoria, Australia I’d love to check out one day.

RJean, thanks for another recommendation, the Gite won’t house 4 though and I see it is close too, but not on a field? Will have a closer look though as on mobile at the moment.

This doesn't quite meet all your requirements but we stayed here a few years ago and absolutely adored it: Le Mas Perreal (http://www.masperreal.com/index.html). It's a B&B with several rooms with separate entrances and private bathrooms. It's about a 30 min drive from Sault and the beautiful drive passes through lots of lavender fields and overlook areas. Highly recommend!

If it doesn't have to be a gite, you could try the hotel La Maison des Ocres in Roussillon. I think the price would be in your budget for 2 doubles or a double and 2 singles. If you can get a terrace room, they overlook the valley below with lavender fields. I was there in July and had a single with terrace and it was lovely. It's not right next to the fields but you can see them laid out below you. They have a pool if that's of interest and they had a good breakfast (don't remember if it was included or extra).
