Laundromats/laveries in Provence

Salut,
Does anyone know how much laundromats cost in Provence? We will be staying in
Frejus-St.Raphael for three months. Although I can find listings of "laveries", I can't
find how much they charge.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks in advance.

Does it really make any difference? They are all fairly reasonable. If you need a laundry, you need a laundry. Remember the laundries are there for the local and not just tourists. You will find a couple of different types. The total coin operation with or without an attendant who makes changes. My memory is little foggy but seem to remember three or four euro per load plus euro or so for 20, 30 mins of drying time. There are also some they will do it for you for 10 or 12 euro and return it to you folded.

For self service, I suspect the cost would be similar to those here in Bourgogne, which typically is on the order of 5€ for a 7 kilogram capacity machine and 10€ for an 18 kilogram capacity machine, plus detergent. Drying is less, typically, 1€ per 10 minute interval. Of course, you can always air-dry, which is what most people do and which would be particularly effective in a hot climate such as that in Provence.

I'll assume you're aware of the visa implications of a 3-month stay in France.

Thankd you for your replies.
And what visa implications other then this is the limit on a short stay?

You're welcome. And the timing is the principal thing I was thinking about. Unless your three months were February, March, and April (total days = 89, 90 in a leap year) or January, February, and March in a non-leap year (total days = 90), staying for 3 months would put you over the 90-day limit (unless you've arranged for a residence permit).

Thank you again. However I did count the days of my stay within those three months and they were within the 90day limit

I hope I’m not being tiresome to raise this about the Schengen limit, but you need to count the arrival and departure days in the 90. Authorities can catch you as you go through airport check-in when leaving. Penalties are severe.

I did. Thank you. I appreciate your concern and info.

I'd say a load of laundry will cost you something between five and ten euro, maybe a little more for an extra large washer. The last one I used was in Arles last September, but I rarely think about how much I paid 60 seconds after I leave. A drier maybe two to four euros. The washers take forever, I'd say well over an hour. My theory is they use little water and REALLY cycle your clothes to get them clean. The dryers, on the other hand, are really fast. I had a relatively small load but my jeans were completely dry in 20 minutes - so don't think you have to run the dryer for an hour.

One really good alternative is to get an Airbnb apartment at least occasionally while you are there. More often than not they include either a washer and clotheslines or a washer/dryer combination. In Juan les Pins, I had a washer then walked a couple of blocks to use a dryer. Having a washer and separate dryer is rare. My experience is I pay less for a studio or one bedroom apartment, per night, than I pay for a hotel and an Airbnb has everything you need.
