Staying in Latin Quarter this September for 4 -5 nights and looking for a reasonably priced boutique hotel up to $250 per night, close to Metro ( included breakfast would be nice). Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thx, Jim from Chicago
We've stayed twice at Hotel des Grandes Hommes. It's right across the street from the Pantheon. Rooms are small, as is common, but very nicely appointed.
Hotel les Jardins du Luxembourg might be in budget.
It is not customary for breakfast to be included in the room rate -- it pretty much always costs an unreasonably large additional fee.
We also stayed at Hotel des Grands Hommes and liked it.
Also recommend:
Hotel Diana
Hotel St Jacques
Hotel les Dames du Pantheon
I don’t know their rates though, you’ll need to check.

We stayed at Hôtel Michelet Odeon in September and were happy with it. The staff was friendly and it was walking distance to several places we wanted to visit. They had a breakfast for an extra charge, but we never had it. We were happy with finding a nearby cafe for coffee and croissants.
I really liked Hôtel Rive gauche. Also close to Luxembourg gardens which are always fun. The next time I went back I paid half as much on the next street over. They seem to be back to back. Old and small and near the morning hubbub of an elementary school. Both places included breakfast. Few blocks from metro including vital RER B train to CDG.
I stayed at Hotel Monge which is a beautiful boutique hotel. There is breakfast but not sure if it’s included with the room rate. Its right near the metro and several shops and cafes. Convenient location to many sights, too. Excellent staff and lovely decor.
We stayed at Hotel Familia. Breakfast was not included.
It was a long time ago, but we liked the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles very much, with a garden and a convenient location. It's a couple of blocks from the Cardinal Lemoine Metro station. Not sure whether it would be in your price range but check the website. Breakfast is available but you can probably get a better deal just uphill at the Cafe Descartes.
The closer you find lodging to the Seine in the Latin Quarter the more convenient you will be situated to walk to many of the wonderful Paris' attractions. 18 mos ago we stayed a few blocks from the Pantheon (which is very much worth visiting) but it was far away from everything & required more walking. Soon we'll be staying at the Hotel Henri IV around the corner from Shakespeare & Company. That location will be perfect for easy walking to many top attractions.
We stayed at Hotel Henri IV--granted, this was quite some time ago--2004. Lovely hotel in a great location, as 1judes1 said, right around the corner from Shakespeare & Co, and near Jardin de Luxembourg in one direction and the Seine, Notre Dame area in the other.
