Last night in Paris coming from Belgium

We are flying in and out of Paris so will need to get back to Paris the night before our 10:30am flight. I booked an airport hotel (Citizen M CDG) so that we'd be able to get the airport quickly in the morning.
First question - is this a good hotel or should we pick another one? I just want to be as close as possible to make the morning easy since it will be a LONG day.
Second question - I was thinking of staying in Belgium most of the day and just get in late to Paris. I'm trying to decide, do we eat dinner in Belgium (maybe Brussels since the Eurostar leave from there) or do we eat in Paris? I'm assuming the restaurants near the airport aren't that great? Or is there a good (non-touristy, non airporty) restaurant that is an easy trek from the airport hotels? We will have to be at the airport pretty early the next day, so we aren't really looking to explore too much more unless it's close and easy. Any suggestions?

One would think that the least problematic thing, considering that you will be travelling with luggage, would be to have an early (ish) dinner wherever you plan to be in Belgium that day, then proceed to your airport hotel. Brussels to Gare du Nord takes 1 1/2 hrs, then add roughly an hour to get out of the station, get a taxi, and ride to the hotel. Or just grab something at the Brussels station to eat on the train.

Depending on where you are staying in Belgium we found that from Brugge to Bruxelles-Midi to Aeroport Charles de Gaulle worked well to get directly to CDG airport. There is a fast TGV train from Brussels (Bruxelles Midi) to the airport. Check the Belgian Rails website. Then you are already at the airport versus taking the Eurostar to Gare du Nord and then having to still get to the airport.

We like staying at the Sheraton at Charles de Gaulle airport which is right within the airport and very convenient for a morning flight.

SNCF makes the Brussels to CDG run also. No need to go in to Paris Gare du Nord.

We found the SNCB website easier to use than the SNCF site. Try belgiantrain.be/en

We found that it was easier to retrieve a ticket from a Belgian site within Belgium than trying to retrieve a French train ticket within Belgium. Our SNCF ticket would not print in Belgium and could only be printed at a French station.

Thank you all! We will book the train direct to the airport to keep it simple. I know we will be tired and the more direct the better!

If faced with a similar trip in the future either
start in your more distant spot and end in where you are flying home or
fly open jaw

We have flown open jaw on many trips and it costs the average of the two round trips and saves the rush back to hone base to fly. e.g. last year it was into Paris and out of Berlin and the next trip was in to Milan and out of LImerick Ireland with a long stay in Paris in between.

Your idea of eating in Belgium and coming in to CDG late to the hotel makes the most sense to me

I have only been to the Citizen M at Amsterdam airport, but know now that they don't suit me.
2 things you might find a negative:
They only have 1-bed rooms and the bed is enclosed by wall on 3 sides.
All lights, shades, etc. are controlled from an iPad.

I disliked it, others may love it.

LizinPA nailed it.

We stayed at the CDG Citizen M in November 2019. It was an easy walk to the airport tram (forget the name), but I wish we had stayed at the Sheraton instead.

In your situation, I’d take the time to make lunch my main meal and then have a quick light dinner before catching the train or even fruit, yogurt or cheese and sandwiches for dinner in the train.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Yes, the Citizen M is interesting on the bed setup. We have 2 rooms for the 3 of us. The Sheraton was double the price and all the other hotels have horrible reviews, but maybe I'll do a little more research. I do want us all to get a good night sleep. We don't need a ton of room but we need to sleep!

I would have liked the Citizen M a whole lot better if we had remembered where we left the tablet when we woke up before dawn!

Since you will have 2 people in one room (spouses? friends?), note that the bathroom isn't a separate room, but there is a curtain between and the person on the bed side will not have access to the door.

It will be either my daughter and I in a room or my husband and I in a room, so I suppose the bathroom doesn't really matter that much. I can leave and let my daughter shower in private. Honestly, it will be late and we will just be showering and sleeping so we just need a quiet, clean and comfortable room for a good nights sleep and an early morning wake up.

I stayed at the Novetel Roissypole at the airport in April. Large, clean, comfortable and quiet room. The toilet room was separate from the shower room. Decent breakfast and less than a 2 minute walk to the CDGVal shuttle train to the terminals.
