Last day in Paris!!.?

Hello I am currently on a trip to Europe. My question is for my last day in Paris before I move on. My son and I have spent 5 amazing days in Paris. We have done a lot of walking today. Now tomorrow is our last day and would like your info on an itiniary to make our day perfect and orderly. These are the places I have not gone to: Louvre, place de la Concorde, Palais Garnier,Catacombs,Centre Pompidou, musee D'Orsay, Rodin. My son would like to see Catacombs for sure! What places do I eliminate and which places do I keep? Should I take bus 69? So I can view some of the highlights like Rick suggested in his book. I would like to know after the catacombs where should I go? I am aware the Louvre is open late on Wednesday night I thought that can be last. Thank you for your input in advance.

Given the heat expected for tomorrow, you might not want to be on an un-airconditioned, bus. The #69, in the best of times, can be uncomfortable and crowded not allowing you a window seat unless you board at the beginning of the run. On the bus, will you know what you're seeing?

If you’re going to the Louvre, I would skip D’Orsay and Rodin. Or, if you have the Museum Pass, just stop in each for 30 minutes. You didn’t mention it, but if you haven’t taken an evening cruise, that would be a great finale, and you could go into the Louvre during the heat of the day.

After the Catacombs, I would choose to do something relaxing, and have a pleasant memory to take with me. There is still a lot you have not done, but you can't do it all and there is always "the next time." My last days look something like this: Top of the Montparnasse Tower for the view, nice lunch, then a Seine river cruise. My objective being to soak up as many Paris Vibes as possible. If you do decide to do museums, I'd choose d'Orsay and Rodin. They are fairly close to each other, and well worth the time.

On my last night, I like to stroll from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame along the Seine with everything lit up. Walk across Pont Alexandre III, zip in to see the Louvre lit up & back out to finish at Notre Dame. I also head over to Cafe Panis for a night cap & dessert. You can do this either direction & if need be take the metro home if the route is not near your quarters.
Enjoy your last day, 10 months until my return.

Hanna left Paris only yesterday, I would do the catacombs ( get in line BEFORE it opens ) and maybe one museum,I’ve been so hot in Paris and the crowds overwhelm the walk air conditioning in any building except the cold section of grocers !

Do the catacombs early, in line a solid 30 min before they open. That will take a while to get through and you may find that you’ll need a break afterwards. Pompidou is cool, but you can totally not see it. Feel similarly about Rodin museum. Opera Garnier is magnificent and pretty easy to see. I can’t imagine a trip to Paris without seeing a bit of the Louvre though!

Try this, take metro to Place de la Concorde, and walk from there through Tuileries Gardens to the Louvre. Hopefully you have RS guidebook with tips on entry and beating the crowds. Stick to the Denon wing, with the Mona Lisa and all of the massive French canvases (David, Delacroix, Gericault). See how you’re feeling and add on from there. My mom and I did no more than two hours late in the day, and we managed to see a lot. Kind of surprising. When it’s evening, walk along the Siene and soak up that magic one last time. It NEVER gets old.

LOVE the idea of walking along the Seine on last night to soak up the magic but can someone answer if it's safe to do that in a dreamy state (my first thought as a New Yorker). Thanks!

It was in April, at 11 pm. But as in any city, keep your eyes open, stay where people are rather than venturing into unlit areas alone.

Dorothy , in central areas many people were walking along the Seine in evening , it’s still light out till 9:30 too.

Central Paris is very safe in evening , we ( two middle aged women ) walked home
from pubs at 3 am , from right bank to left bank , many people are still out and about ( its been super hot so people are going out later )

Should add this , if you are a young girl alone and have been drinking , you should be far more cautious, you never know , it’s just like at home , you may get cat called or whistled at .
