Last day in Normandy ideas-what to do with luggage too!

We are looking for a nice way to end our time in Normandy prior to traveling by train to CDG Airport hotel that evening. (Tuesday night stay before an early morning flight home the following morning.) As we will be winding down....not too intense a day.

We will have gone on a D-Day tour, seen Mt. ST. Michel, the Bayeaux Tapestry, Cathedral. Staying in Bayeaux.

I thought about stopping in Rouen to see the Cathedral and other sites, but I did note that most museums are closed on Tuesday.

I also thought about strolling in Honfleur.

We don't have a car at this point, and thus luggage can be an issue. I imagine we can find a driver to take us to Honfleur if that is a better choice.

Other Ideas? How have you dealt with luggage if no car? I haven't picked up on known locations to store it in either town.

Googling something like luggage storage Bayeux or luggage storage Honfleur will usually produce results if the service is available. In addition to train stations (sometimes), there are companies (Stasher, Nannybag, perhaps others) that serve to connect travelers with local businesses (shops, cafes, etc.) that have extra space and offer luggage storage. Nannybag has a couple of options in Honfleur and in Bayeux. The service should be available in the larger cities of Caen and Rouen as well.

There's bus service from Caen to Honfleur, and Caen's a short train ride from Bayeux. A private driver could probably be arranged and would be faster, but the distance is about 55 miles each way, and you'd have to pay either for the driver's waiting time in Honfleur or for two roundtrips.

Busses are an option. We took a bus from Le Havre to Honfleur and from there to Bayeaux…pretty sure you can reverse that trip. Frequent trains from Le Havre to Paris.

Why can’t you check your luggage at the Bayeaux hotel where you spent the night? We have done that many times while traveling.

We are leaving Bayeux in the morning and stopping in Honfleur on our way to Lille. I’d offer you a ride, but there wouldn’t be room for your luggage. If you want to go to Rouen I just googled Rouen luggage storage and saw a couple of options. Good luck finding something.

There are so many D-day sites in Normandy, and I'll bet your tour won't go to them all. The Pegasus Bridge site (huge, early British Paratrooper coup) is something a tour guide emphasizing American sites may not have visited. It is likely they also didn't go to some of the smaller or less visited cemeteries like the Canadian Cemetery in Riviers or the large German Cemetery in Orglandes (not to be confused with the much more frequently visited one at La Cambre). Both are two of my favorites. Did you make it out to Utah Beach and the wonderful museum there? Or La Fière causeway West of Sainte-Mère-Église? Or the Cauquigney Chapel just west of there? How about the very sobering church in Angoville-au-plain where two airborne medics set up an aid station taking care of combatants on both sides and local citizens too? How about the D-day experience in Carentan? There are also many local distilleries in the area that make Calvados and offer tastings. Plus a few horseback riding venues. In Sainte-Mère-Église there is a wonderful little museum just outside of town about the old farming culture through the years in that area (Ferme-musée du Cotentin). If you want to get out of that area, a big vote for Rouen. The Cathedral is open, and the old downtown is free to walk around, although not too dissimilar to Bayeux. Too bad the Museum of Fine Arts is closed on Tuesday—it is wonderful. Cherbourg is a town I only briefly visited and would like to return to. Sorry, I just re-read your post about not having a car. Bummer. Most places I recommended and indeed most sights in Normandy really require a car. Maybe you can get one for a day. There is a rental place in Bayeux and several in Caen.
