In the Rick Steves guide it says you can only reserve tickets for the Lascaux II caves 2-5 days in advance by phone. This website seems to let you buy them farther in advance. Can anyone confirm that this is the current way to buy advance tickets? Thanks!

If you scroll part way down the page, you'll see "nouveau reservez en ligne," which is the new on-line reservation system that they just implemented fully this month. If you need an English tour, look for the ones offered "en anglais." This is the current way to buy advanced tickets. I didn't see if the website is offered in English yet, but you can use Google translate.

We have been to Lascaux II twice and always just rolled up and booked an English tour within an hour or two. How likely are there to be no tickets same day these days?

Thanks! We'll probably buy them in advance because we're traveling with a group of 9! Don't want to chance it.
