Hi, which of the distilleries do you recommend in Cognac, Hennessy, Sam Remy, Martell or other? My wife and I will be visiting La Rochelle on 31 August (8-11pm) and would like to take a private or semi-private tour to Cognac. Also, do you recommend a stop in Rochefort, time permitting.

Hello! My friend and I will be docked 13 -14 September 2022 in La Rochelle on Celebrity Apex. Can you recommend a group/semi-private tour to Saintes and Cognac? The cruise excursion is sold out, and private tours appear very expensive. Thank you.
La Rochelle is perfectly nice itself. There's rail service to Saintes (taking as little as 49 min.), and there's bus service to the Ile de Re. I don't know about the frequency of the Ile de Re buses; September will be a bit past peak season.
I don't know anything about tour options in that area, but I don't think there's a need to pay a lot of money when there are good public-transportation alternatives as well as the opportunity just to enjoy La Rochelle.
