This is something most people probably don't know about, but which has been operating for years and is very popular with residents.
"La Panamée" takes place the 3rd Thursday of each month, from 7PM to 10PM, is free and open to the public, and is a 3 hour guided hiking tour which involves a different topic and different route each trip.
The walking is confined to Paris or the nearby suburbs, so not really strenuous, but you should be able to walk at least 8 miles without collapsing. Usually about 200 or more people show up for this, especially during vacation time.
The next scheduled "rando" is in mid-September, and the topic is all the different kinds of markets in Paris - outdoor food markets, covered markets, stamp markets...
