La Calife Seine dinner cruises

Has anyone had experience with this company? Reviews look good but always some horror stories. Similarly for Bateaux Mouche and Bateaux Parisien. I tis our 50th wedding anniversary and we are meeting another couple to take the cruise. They favor the Bateaux Mouche but I feel they may be more crowded. Any insights?

I can recommend Le Calife 100%. Of course, there are always horror stories, but we had a very positive experience. This is the only (so I have been told) dinner cruise where the food is actually prepared on board. You reserve online within 30 days of your desired date, and choose your menu selection at that time. They have two or three different pricing levels, each with at least 2 or 3 selections for each course. We chose the mid-priced menu and had an excellent table. It was a mystery to me how they matched the food to the correct people, but they did. A glass of champagne and an amuse bouche is included. The cruise is timed for sunset when the monuments along the river are lit up, and I think goes a little further down river than some of the cruises. Seeing the Eiffel Tower twinkle from the river is magical.

Thank you. Is the view as good as from the BM and BP do you think? The tables appear to have one couple with their back to the window.

I highly recommend La Calife. We have done this dinner cruise twice and would do it again if we return to Paris. It is a small boat, food is excellent and perfect service. We were on the cruise the last week in April this year. We did not select our dinner when making reservation but did so once we were seated. You can check out their menu on their website. I wouldn't even consider doing one of the others. Have a wonderful time and congratulations on your 50th.

I just now saw your question about the view. The views were wonderful. No need to worry about that.

There were 4 of us and we were all seated at a table perpendicular to the window - no one had their back to the window.
