L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue antiques

For anyone else trying to plan a trip to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to antique shop - THE ANTIQUE SHOPS ARE ONLY OPEN FRIDAY-MONDAY EVERY WEEK. We had Monday and Wednesday available to go to Luberon and chose Wednesday since the Mistral winds were so strong we decided to make Wednesday our Luberon day. Bad decision. I saw nowhere in RS books that the antique shops would be closed (maybe I missed it)? Plan well!

A lot of people go on Sunday, which is the big outdoor-market day, so perhaps the hours of the shops are not mentioned in the book. It's pretty common for antique shops in small towns like that to have limited days of operation. I've seen the same thing with art galleries.

I did spend a fair amount of time wandering through the antique shops. I understand your disappointment, but a lot of what I saw was bulky furniture that wouldn't be of interest to most US/Canadian visitors. And the outdoor market was lively, but it is overwhelming in size and made it harder to appreciate how pretty the town is. I can tell you that on the day I was there, there were only a very few small outdoor stalls with antiques/flea-market goods.

I ended up going back to the town on a non-market day so I could easily walk around and see something besides temporary market stalls.
