Killing time in Paris between arrival at CDG and check-in at VRBO

We will arrive (jet-lagged) at CDG at about 8:00am. Check-in at our condo is not until 1:00pm. Any thoughts on what to do with ourselves and our luggage for those five hours? When I'm staying in a hotel they will set my luggage aside for me until my room is ready , and if necessary I can snooze somewhere in the lobby in the meantime. That won't be an option here.

You can store your luggage at some train stations or you can look up places to store them on the Bounce app. Jet lag hates sun and exercise, so you can just walk around or do one of Rick's audio tours, then take a nice leisurely lunch at a cafe before checking in.

Where is your condo?

There are many luggage storage services in the city. We used Nannybag in a similar situation. https://www.nannybag.com/en There is also Stasher, Bounce, maybe others. You reserve on line ahead and then the storage is at a hotel, cafe, shop or somewhere. Ours was a small hotel in the 5th.

Then a cafe breakfast and good walk around the area. It will be 1:00 pm in no time.

Enjoy the planning!

If you arrive at 8 you will probably be at your neighborhood at about 10:30 -- maybe 10, maybe 11.

Two options -- store the luggage and go about your business.

or find a nice cafe near your apartment where you can sit outside and get coffee then lunch with your luggage behind you. Sip coffee, watch the world go by, read a book, get lunch, read some more and then check in. If there is a nice small park near your lodging, you could hang there and one person could go out for good take out coffee and pastries to enjoy.

Your in Paris. Don't "kill time". Listen to the above.

Start your holiday. Find a place to people watch and enjoy a cafe. Scout out your new neighborhood. Which boulangerie or patisserie will you frequent? Where's the nearby Monoprix or Carrefour? Read the menus of the bistros and cafes that look good. Maybe book a table for your first night's dinner.

This is very true. So you are really just talking about a couple of hours. You could park yourself in a café near your condo (coffee will be very welcome) and maybe find one nearby attraction that interests you. I have sat with luggage at a café before, and as long as you don't have too much luggage (don't do that anyway), it isn't an issue.

Thanks all. I erred in using the expression "killing time." I have no shortage of ways to enjoy Paris. I was mostly curious about what to do with the luggage. Turns out "Nannybag" has a dropoff about three minutes from our condo, which should do nicely.

It's worth asking your VRBO host whether they have a means to store your luggage until check-in time. Several of our AirBnB hosts have been able to accommodate us in this regard.
