I'm not finding the Kemtro app mentioned in Rick's article: Learning Le Métro: Basic Tips for Paris’ Underground Arteries. Has anyone found it or can you recommend one?
This what you are seeking? http://www.citygoround.org/apps/kemtro/
Let us know how you like kemtro. Many of us have had a good experience with Citymapper as a transit app:
https://citymapper.com/
Very up to date service.
I have never heard of Kemtro, but I use CityMapper daily -- and I have lived here for 16 years. It's superb.
The Kemtro website and app seem dead, since close to 10 years if their facebook page is any indication.
Citymapper is a very good app which has the benefit of being available in many major cities worldwide; the latest version of the RATP app ("Bonjour RATP") is also pretty good - a vast improvement over what was before.
I find the RATP apps/website some of the most poorly organized and confused offerings I have tried to use. Once I started using Citymapper, I deleted all things RATP.
I always tend to use Googlemaps. Is there something better?
To the poster above: Citymapper is much better than Google Maps at keeping track of service disruptions and actual train/bus times vs. scheduled. At least in Paris.
Googlemaps are fine for walking. They contain very little useful information about public transportation.
Thanks everyone! I'm excited to try Citymapper. Its seems to be the way to go.
Ugh. Our wonderful City Mapper gave me 3+ errors this week. This has never happened before.
An imaginary exit at Concord, an RER station closed for upgrades, suggesting the metro and a 650 meter walk instead of a direct bus 60 meters away.
What's up with this ? This has always been a wonderful app. I love how it tells us which metro car to choose and the exact exit.
