In your opinion, if the RS guidebook had a section on the Jura, what town do you think he would promote as his Beaune, Amboise, Dinan, Arles, Honfluer, etc. and why?
Thanks,
Matt

I haven't read any RS guidebooks, so I don't know what the criteria is for promoting those towns. But I've visited the Jura a couple of times, and there are 2 groups of cities/towns I'd recommend. Dole and Besancon are small cities, both attractive and with great indoor food halls. Arbois and Poligny are large towns that are worth visiting, and probably staying in. Both are attractive and have a fair number of shops and restaurants.
Thanks Robert!
Back when we used it, RS France certainly had Besancon, which was great. Not far away, Perouges is worth a detour. I think I had to use Michelin Green to find a drive along the life of painter Gustave Courbet, which was lovely.
