I, my wife and daughter arrive around 6 PM in mid June to CDG. I have always wanted to take my daughter to Paris and now is the year.
From CGD - besides a taxi and uber - is there a private car service that can be booked which will save time avoiding the taxi line.
We are staying at an apartment at 129 Av. Philippe Auguste 75011. Is this a good and safe location. Are there any cafes or restaurants close by that we should try. I assume we will eat late the night we arrive. We are open on cost.
Are there any special places or things to do in your visits or living in Paris that you can share - it is appreciated.
The taxi line moves fast, and only taxis are allowed in bus lanes, so they are faster than Ubers and other car services. Plus, the rate is fixed at 53€.
Your location is very safe. Right by Pere Lachaise cemetery (highly recommended), close to Atelier des Lumières (look it up and see if the exhibits appeal to you), and with dozens of trendy eateries in the 11th arrondissement (district) to the west and to the south. I haven't been out there often in enough to make recommendations, though.
You will need the metro to get to most main sights, but you are not that far, and some places are still walkable (Place des Vosges would be 30 minutes away, for instance).
You will not usually save any time by arranging for a car service. Just ate a taxi from the official taxi stand for 53€. Uber is not worth the bother of trying to find your car upon arrival and car services park far away from the terminal. Neither has access to the bus lanes so they have more issues with traffic than do taxis. I think you have chosen a great non-touristy area.
