For those of us with a love of Chanson Francaise , and are long in the tooth , this obit in the The NY Times . https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/23/arts/music/juliette-greco-dead.html and a sample of her wonderful art - https://youtu.be/juN1Er7SfAA
Steven, thank you for reminding us of Juliet Greco’s passing! Speaking of those of us of a certain age, “Non, Monsieur, Je n’ai pas Vingt Ans” is one of my favorites.
I only saw her perform live once, at the Ramatuelle Festival where the public adored her and knew all her songs by heart. A true icon.
I know that Gréco wrote a number of memoirs but is there a biography or bio-pic about her?
It's another of many instances in which Cold War excesses here in the USA prevented us from getting a better exposure to her oeuvre and activism than we should have gotten.
