Jeanne de Arc, Hotel Fabric, Caron de Marais, Villa Beaumarchais, Asotel Astoria

Paris travelers I need your help :) !!

I have to book a hotel for August (had a last minute itinerary shift so now looking for hotels during Olympics in Paris!!) I'm booking for six of us - and found decent rates at each of these hotels -- any recommendations? It will be the first time to Paris for my three kids (10, 13, 15) who are all into art and music, etc - so I focused on the Marais....but if I'm missing something, please let me know!!

Thank you so so much!

I feel like maybe a couple of your hotel names are mixed up ? Isn't it the Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais ?

I've stayed at the Hotel Jeanne d' Arc and would definitely stay there again. The location is wonderful. I had a single room, and it was probably the smallest single I have ever had, but it was so thougtfully laid out I had no problem with it whatsoever. And the bed was super comfy.

Here's another vote for Jeanne de Arc. The location in the Marais is fabulous, the hotel has first-rate amenities, and the staff are excellent.

I quite like Hotel Caron. I recommend it quite often. You were more right than wrong with its name, by the way. It is Hotel Caron le Marais. Based on my suggestion, a friend and his wife just stayed there in March and loved it. I'd pick it of the three in Le Marais. I am not a fan of hotel Hotel Jeanne d'Arc. To me it looks about five years due for a complete renovation but I do not like what many people call quaint. Does it have air conditioning yet? I would not stay at a hotel in Paris in August that does not have air conditioning. And fair warning, I quite dislike Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais which you like so you may hate what I am looking for in a hotel. I have disliked only one Astotel property and it was not the Astoria. Astotel properties really are great values and my children loved the decor in every one of the locations that we stayed in. They were the ages of your older children and older when we stayed. The best hotel on your list (and I have stayed in three of your five) is Hotel Fabric but I would skip it for a first trip to Paris, especially given your focus on Le Marais but if your children are hipster types, the older two will probably love the area around Hotel Fabric. Getting to any of the usual sights is at least a 15-minute metro ride and you may want to avoid dealing with metro closings, etc. during the Olympics.

Just to clarify. Caron le Marais and Caron de Beaumarchais are two different hotels.

And Villa Beaumarchais is a third hote property, not to be confused with Caron de Beaumarchais.

@Ijes, It was Le Hotel 123 Sebastopol. I did not like the location and I did not like the theme-based decor.

JHK, thank you for mentioning the air conditioning. That hotel still doesn’t. Silly me just assumes they all do. I’ve started my hotel research and I’ll make sure that’s an amenity.

Another vote for Jeanne d'Arc. First stayed there many years ago and loved it. Fab location, beautiful hotel and a great choice.
