itinerary for Paris and NOrmandy Area.

Hello:

We are two Canadians travelling to Paris/Normandy area mid October. Would like suggestions regarding our itinerary and places to stay. Right now we are thinking of two nights in Caen (take train from Paris after landing). We will then get car rental and drive to Bayeux for 3 night stay. We will do the Juno Beach/Canadian Battlefields and perhaps Omaha Beach tour. I am thinking we will book tours although we will have a car. We would then drive to Mont St. Michel for one night stay. Return to Caen and drop car rental off. Take train to Paris for 4 night stay. This will be our third time to Paris so looking for ideas for sights that are different than the main ones as we have done them. We have also seen Versailles. We like good food, walking, culture and just taking in the sights. I am hoping to stay in the 7th area but wanted hotel suggestions for Paris in particular. Thank you.

We are doing a similar trip at the end of September. This will be our second trip to France. During our last trip, we spent 4 days in Paris. For a hotel in Paris, I highly recommend l'Hotel du Champs de Mars. https://www.hotelduchampdemars.com It is a typical small French hotel room oozing with charm. The elevator is tiny, the reception staff helpful and from our window we could we could see the Eiffel Tower. It was spectacular. For breakfast, we went to any of the cafés on the street to have a croissant, café, and orange pressée. Within a short walking distance is Rue Cler, teeming with restaurants, patisseries, cheese shops, florists, etc. On a recommendation from the hotel, we went to a small, lovely restaurant called Bistro Belhara. https://bistrotbelhara.com The food and service were both outstanding. Our waiter, Frédéric, was gracious, had a sense of humour and walked us to the door at the end of the evening. If they still serve the peach soufflé you must try it. There was a tiny window into the kitchen in the back where most people stopped by to thank the chef. It's what Paris is all about. We loved it.
