We are two female travelers able to walk a few miles a day, headed to the Paris region for 7 days late April/early May 2025. We enjoy food, music, clothing, food, people, history, architecture and food. No itinerary plans yet. We know how to travel, just looking for where to stay and have reliably good meals.
Looking for specifics - already spent time on booking websites. Seek less expensive accommodations with easy access to transit of some kind to Paris. Open to bnb, apartment, agri-tourismos, pension complete or hotel.
No hostels, dorms, couch beds or foldouts. Need separate bedrooms. Shared bathroom and common area ok. Eg, beds in separate rooms if apartment or separate rooms if hotel/pension. Hoping for 250 euro/night for both beds = 125 euro per person per night.
Will use public transit - will not rent a car, so need to be within short walk to boulangerie and train or subway or bus. Game for local experience over touristy sites, but will visit the Lourve one day. Any specific recommendations for lodging itineraries and or great meal sites are appreciated.
Would love to know what "psychically fit" means. Not a term I've ever seen before. Does this mean you have superior supernatural abilities, or just a particularly robust aura?
Have a look at booking.com and use the filters for budget and amenities. But at that low level, you may also want to look at hostels. Also look at proximity to metro lines and bus stops, but try to stay somewhat central, to avoid wasting time and money on travel in and out of the city each day. A car will NOT be an asset in Paris.
Since budget is a concern, look at local markets or shops and boulangeries for cheap breakfasts and picnic style lunches. Hostels can be an advantage here since they may offer cooking facilities. Inexpensive but still delicious dinners can be found in local cafes and bistros. Or have your main meal at lunch, when there are often well priced meals offered.
I think we know that "psychically fit" is a typo for physically fit but whatever. @swrenrides: Have you looked at AirBnb to see if there is anything in your budget during your dates? When you say you need separate bedrooms does that mean that you would want to rooms at a hotel or is to suggest that you do not want to share a sleeping area with strangers as you would in a hostel? Basically, my question is would you stay in a double private room in a hotel?
Be sure you don't end up in a place with two beds, one of them being a fold-out couch or futon--unless that's acceptable to you, of course.
This is a combo hotel and hostel. Great location, good prices, private rooms with bath are reasonably priced. I lugged in random days in April and it came out to about 105 euros each room each night.
