Is there Bus from Caen to Mont St. Michell?

We are planning to visit Mont St. Michelle in Aug. We plan to take train to Caen from Paris and rent a car, but I got stumbled into the website called Omio showing there is bus from Caen to Mont St. Michelle as cheap as 5 euro. It looked too good to be true and was wondering if this is public transportation or not.
I google searched about public transportation but not much about bus ride between and was wondering about Omio website.
Can anyone know about this?
Thank you.

I don't know anything about this bus, but you should know that Caen and Mont Saint-Michel are on almost opposite ends of Normandy. If you re traveling to MSM from somewhere else (like Paris maybe?), there may be better options. Even if you want to rent a car (recommended), you can take a train to Rennes and pick up a car there and save yourself some driving. I did that a few years ago and it worked out great. I ended up going elsewhere in Normandy and then dropping my car off in Caen.

I believe at those prices you're talking the share of fuel costs if car pooling through bla-bla car. You can try, but I doubt if anyone is doing that trip on the date you want.

On weekdays there are a couple of direct trains a day from Caen to Pontorson; there's only one direct train on Saturday and a Sunday. Those trains take between 2:30 and 2:40. There are also some departures requiring a connection, but they take longer and may cost more, since they involve more mileage

There's some sort of shuttle bus service from Pontorson to Mont-Saint-Michel; I haven't looked for the bus schedules and don't know how well they align with the train arrival times.

The Churchill Hotel in Bayeux runs a shuttle to MSM. Seats can be purchased by anyone; you don't have to be a guest at the hotel. However, day tripping to MSM is reported to yield a very inferior experience because of the extremely heavy tourist load.

Sunshine, it is routine to read about people (IMHO, unwisely) visiting the D-Day beaches as a rushed same-day runout from Paris. But it's rare to hear about a one day out-and-back to MSM. The place is fine, but why go so far for one attraction, one that's not really a full day, anyway? There are plenty of lovely medieval places in France and in Europe.

I'm with Calvados. Arrive early at MSM and enjoy the open spaces. We departed into a sea of tour bus passengers and it was tough to wade through the crowds. We then drove around the bay to Cancale for a delicious seafood lunch with MSM visible across the bay. Cancale oysters are world famous but the seaside restaurants have a full menu if you don't favor fresh oysters. We then drove back to our B&B near Bayeux, drifting along the roadways stopping in small villages to purchase cheeses, sandwiches, local goods, and the all important Calvados. That slow trip back is still a favorite discussion topic even after 10 years.
