Is there a month long Metro Pass in Paris?

Hi,
I'll be in Paris for the month of November and I'm hoping there is a reasonably affordable way to get around on the Metro. I was there for five days a couple of months ago and I don't remember exactly how much the five-day pass was, but it wasn't very cheap.

Also, is there any such thing as a museum pass that doesn't restrict you to consecutive days?

Merci beaucoup!

Pete

For transportation, purchase a Navigo Découverte card (5€) and load it with a monthly fare. The card requires a 25 mm x 30 mm passport style photo and you must print your name in the space provided. The zone 1 - 5 fare is 75.20€.

The museum pass always has a consecutive day validity period. If you are staying for a month, you really do nto need to rush through museums. Just purchase required tickets in advance, on line and avoid the ticket lines.

I thought that one could not load the monthly option on the Navigo card unless you had a French credit card/address. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Even if you have to load the card weekly four times during the month it still remains a great bargain, IMHO.

There are two types of cards: Navigo and Navigo Découverte. The Navigo card is mailed free to anyone who registers for it on line and who lives in the Ile de France (basically the zone 1 - 5 region). Navigo Découverte cards cost 5€, may be purchased by anyone, and do not require registration.

The same Navigo fares, of which there are a variety, may be loaded onto either card.

If one loses a Navigo Découverte card, any loaded fare is also lost. If a Navigo card is lost, for 8€ the card is replaced and any remaining fare is restored.

Note that the monthly pass is for the calendar month just as the weekly pass is for the calendar week. If you have a US chip/sig card you will not be able to load the pass on a machine but will have to go to the information window clerk where she can load it with a credit card (not cash). The limit for using the card without a pin is exceeded with the cost of the monthly pass. For the weekly pass, it is no issue. The ND can be loaded with a daily pass, a weekly pass or a monthly pass.
