Is Malcolm Miller still leading tours of the Cathedral in Chartres?

We will be in Chartres in October. Just wondering if Malcolm Miller is still around to lead tours of the Cathedral?

Yes. We just saw him and listened to his fascinating talk last Friday. He's as feisty as we had heard, a keen wit and encyclopedic knowledge of the Cathedral. I'd also highly recommend the (shorter) ride out to Basilica Saint Denis-it truly rivals Notre Dame in Paris.
Contact him here to confirm the day you wish, he typically does two talks (not a tour) a day, but the day we were there he did noon only; amazing:

Thanks, Dave. As you recommended, I sent Mr. Miller an email. Looking forward to a reply from him.

Hi Jerry, I see that Dave already answered your question but I just wanted to add that the labyrinth is only open (no chairs covering it) on Fridays. We had a tour with Malcolm Miller in May and he was wonderful. However, we were there on a Monday and only got glimpses of the labyrinth. Amazing history! Enjoy your trip!

Jerry, the cafe with the small terrace directly across from the Cathedral was very good, by the way. Mama cooks and Hubby waits tables, try their foie gras starter!

Donna, thanks for the info on the labyrinth. I had read about it, but it won't be open when we're there.

Miller's tours are fantastic and definitely a great way to experience the cathedral. I suggest showing up early and enjoying the view from the back of the cathedral and then also lunching at the delicious café that is directly to the left of the front (when facing)of the cathedral. They have excellent formule specials. Café le Serpent, however quaint it is (to the right) is overpriced and can be mediocre at best (though their hot chocolates are lovely).

The name of the cafe I was referring to is called Le Cloitre Gourmand-excellent! If they have the strawberry tart from the local patisserie, well, it may come as a surprise, but that was good, too ;-))
Have a great trip, Jerry-maybe you're there now?

Bingo, Jerry! That's the one I'm talking about too. The view of the cathedral is superb.
