Rates vary a great deal between companies but it is difficult to tell whether liability insurance is included or not. Europcar did respond that liability is covered in the rate quoted on their website. However, I have been unable to get a straight answer from Avis, Hertz or Enterprise. Avis and Hertz rates appear cheaper than Europcar but this may not be the case if liability is not included. Can anyone help me? None of these American companies make is easy to get an answer as hard as I have tried.
Liability is included in rates since it protects the vehicle owner against monstrous (medical, death, etc).
Your coverage is for damage to the vehicle and will vary in cost by whether your credit card covers it, or you buy through the agency.
Rate variations between owning agencies and consolidators vary in either direction based on when the consolidator made its mass-buy obligation.
Liability is not enough! It is included, but get comprehensive coverage from TravelGuard. It is cheap and covers every scratch with no surprises at car turn in.
