Is 11 days for Brittany too much ?

Hi !

We (2 adults and 10 ans 14 years old kids) will be in France for 5 weeks in july-august. After 7 nights in Paris, 5 in Normandy and before one week in Dordogne/Auvergne We have make reservations for 11 nights in Brittany. We would have 4 nights in Dinan, 5 in Quimper and 2 in Vannes. We want to make daytrip from each of those places.

Is it too much time for that region ? We love to take our time, enjoy a glass of wine/beer/drink in late afternoon before heading to a restaurant.

That's the speed at which I travel, so it would be great for me. Have you considered stopping in Nantes on the way to the Dordogne in order to Les Machines de l'Isle? I believe it's a rather expensive thing to do, but it sounds very appealing.

We loved Brittany. Don't miss St Malos. So fun to walk the walls and lots of pirate themed stuff.

We spent about 8 days in the region and want to go back to see more, so no I don't think it's too much time. We stayed in Vannes and while it's a nice town with a charming medieval core it is not on the ocean. It has a harbor but it's more than a mile along a canal to the bay. So if you wanted to stay oceanside/bayside another town might be a better choice.

I suggest getting the Michelin Green Guide for Brittany. It lists virtually every town a tourist might want to visit, and also have some suggested driving itineraries. Also request Stu's itinerary; see https://www.fodors.com/community/europe/normandy-and-brittany-stu-dudleys-updated-itinerary-1670294/ We used both of those planning our trip to Brittany and Normandy a few years ago.
