We are considering flying from Zurich to CDG. My question is what can we expect in terms of hassles on arrival. We will have checked baggage. How does it compare with arriving on an international flight?
Thanks for your help

Both are Schengen member states, but not EU, but your experience should be like any Domestic flight in the US into a very large airport. No immigration or Passport check, just get off your plane, walk a bunch, find your bags, walk a bunch to find ground transport, experience the normal hassles of CDG.
The above response is correct. But more information would help us give a better response. Are you thinking of taking this flight to get between Zurich and Paris itself, or to connect in Paris for a flight further afield (like to the US)? If you are connecting to another flight, would this be all on one ticket, or two separate tickets?
If you're just going from Zurich to Paris, it will be faster and easier to take the train. If you're taking two flights and going on separate tickets, be fully aware of the risks of this; here's a good summary: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g41707-c207311/Newton:Massachusetts:Connecting.On.Separate.Tickets.html
The flight would strictly be a commuter flight to continue our vacation and not to connect to a flight to the states. I estimate a train trip, door-to-door, is about 5 1/2 hours. Just trying to do my due diligence before I present the options to the finance committee, otherwise known as my wife. :-)
www.skyscanner.com covers European budget airlines with one-way flights. In this case you will find a number of non-stops lasting about an hour and a half. Most are with traditional rather than budget airlines. The usual warnings apply: Get to the Zurich airport in good time for security etc. At CdG there may or may not be a security check (these days) but recovering your bags will be routine. You still have to commute into the city rather than stepping out of a train door into the centre of the action. Pretty good prices by air if you book as far ahead as possible.
PS: Skyscanner connects you to other agencies for ticket sales. You should use a link directly to the airline if possible.
