Insight needed for today’s train sabotage - trying to get from Bordeaux to Paris tomorrow

Any locals on here familiar with how SCNF handles train situations like the sabotage tracks early this morning or have any further information?

We haven’t received any email on this at this point but seeing posts on FB. The return part of our round trip tickets are still showing - 3 high-speed train tickets in the SCNF app for tomorrow morning leaving Bordeaux at 10:26 AM tomorrow to Paris Montparnasse (12:49 arrival).

Does that mean our train is still on as scheduled?

We had traveled to Bordeaux to attend an Olympics football game and now are needing to return to Paris for the rest of our ticketed events.

Merci for any insight!

If your train is still showing, for now you can expect it to run. It might leave on time, or it might not, but even if it does, it is likely to arrive late due to detours via the conventional (=not high speed) line. Check again tomorrow morning before heading to the station.

If I was you I would check the live train departure board tomorrow morning before leaving your hotel- https://www.garesetconnexions.sncf/en/stations-services/bordeaux-saint-jean/timetables

Your train seems to be the 1046, rather than 1026 departure

The other thing I would be investigating to have ready is any alternative non TGV route (TER or Intercities)- looking at a rail map of France the one that grabs me is via Limoges. Yes it will take all day, rather than 2 hours. But at least it would do the job.

I would also think about buses- Flixbus still have room as I write on the 0920, granted another all day adventure.

This is the same pro-active plan of attack as I would have in the UK.

What balso said is correct. When there is a problem on a TGV track, the train is detoured onto regular tracks that go through the towns. This has happened to me twice in the last year, once due to an electrical outage and a second time due to an accident on the tracks. Count on your train taking longer to reach Paris. (Pack snacks and water. )
