Minutes after reading Kim's post giving details of how to get tickets to Notre Dame, I found this article from the Wall Street Journal Magazing in my email inbox. It is a fascinating look at the restoration of Notre Dame, and "the controversies that nearly consumed it." I really had no idea of all the issues that went into the restoration, including the sudden death of the original project overseer, Jean-Louis Georgelin. And it goes into so much detail about the actual restoration and the perils and pitfalls that awaited the workers.
