Inland Normandy route

Hello - After our night on MSM, we have 1 1/2 days to explore inland Normandy before our car is due back in Rouen. I'm looking at Swiss Normande and Pays d'Auge; perhaps Falise, Camembert, Livarot and from Orbec, heading to Rouen. I'm not sure of the best routing from MSM or even if there are more inviting towns to visit. I'll appreciate your input. Thanks.

Of the places you mentioned, I have only been to Falaise. I really liked its new museum about civilian life during WWII, which also covers the Resistance. There's little left of the historic town as a result of destruction during the invasion.

I enjoyed day-trips to both Fougeres and Vitre. They're south of Mont-St-Michel, and I happily wandered around each of them for a few hours.

Hi,

On the way back from Orbec to Rouen Le Bec-Hellouin is worth a detour.

It is worth exploring the “Boucles de la Seine” area downstream from Rouen with lovely places like Saint-Wandrille-Rançon and Jumièges, but only doable having enough time.

In the meanwhile many years ago I enjoyed driving along the coast - D513 - from Honfleur to Trouville-sur-Mer/Deauville.
